Using Fitbook to Reach your Goals

I recently got an email from my local running store, FleetFeet, about a new product they introduced called FitBook. I looked through it quick and it looks like a great resource for someone who is looking to get a jump-start on reaching their health goals. They book is set-up for you to set you own goals and track your progress over 12-weeks. It has suggestions for fitness and nutrition goals as well as including plenty of open space for you to set your own health goals (I strongly recommend some relaxation/mental health type goal).

People who set goals are more likely to be successful when starting a new weight loss or exercise plan. In addition, research has shown that people who write down what they eat are more likely to make healthy choices.

If you are considering starting a weight loss program, you should first check with your physician to make sure you are clear to start exercising and following a calorie-restricted diet. Next I recommend meeting with a dietitian to develop a meal plan that will meet your nutritional needs while allowing you to lose weight at a healthy rate. Lastly, get together with someone who is highly trained in exercise science – many personal trainers now have BS degrees in exercise physiology or exercise science, so you can be confident that they are will provide you with safe exercises to reach your goals.

This Fitbook is a great resource for your to bring with you to the dietitian and trainer. You can buy it here.
