Doors

All of the doors in our house were old wood doors with push locks. Not the kind where you push the button (those were too new for this house) but the kind where you push the entire knob in and turn to lock the door.

Something about this just does not seem secure, especially since  this was the type of lock securing our home from burglers. In order to change the locks and add a deadboldt we had to replace the front door. The current door was wood with hideous yellow glass and a bronze door ring to hide the oversized hold the previous owners put in when they installed the door. Needless to say we weren’t sad to see it go.

The garage door was a different safety concern. While we weren’t too worried about someone breaking in, we were worried about someone falling down the basement steps on their way in.
