The night of my last exam of the semester we got started on the kitchen. We were having Christmas Eve dinner at our house in 3 days, so we had to get to work quickly.
The first step was to remove the sink. The sink itself was nothing special and came out pretty quickly. The surprise with this step was what we found inside the pipes – as you can see below, it is probably a good thing that we replaced the pipes.
The counters were a pain to take out because they weren’t actually counters, but thin sheets of laminate.
The cabinets were clearly handmade and this guy LOVED nails. There is a picture below that shows just how many nails he felt were necessary for assembling a stationary cabinet. I got to work on my sawing skills, which was a nice stress reliever after a week of exams.
