DIY Breakfast Nook Project

Last year I had the idea of putting in a breakfast nook. At this time, our kitchen remodeling was only a dream and we were skill managing with a mini-stove, about 4 feet of counter space, and no dishwasher. Fast-forward 1 year and we have a whole new kitchen! The idea of a breakfast nook... Continue Reading →

DIY Pot Rack and Organization Center

I am not going to lie...I am pretty proud of this post. I have been wanting a pot rack and organization area for quite a long time. The pots were nested in each other in the cabinets on the long wall. The "organization center" was basically on 1/4 of the counter on the long wall.... Continue Reading →

bedroom update

We haven't had to do much work on the bedroom since the last update. The window and floor trim are complete. One of our first projects after moving into the house was to install a closet system. Hobby lobby had a 50% off sale on basket, so I picked up a few to use as storage on the shelves.  The left... Continue Reading →

Spare room – new trim

The spare room has continued to be that "other room" you put things in that have no other place. Nonetheless, I wanted to share the trim and door update. We will need to get new closet doors for the closet.

New registers

When we moved in 2 years ago, the first [of many] odd thing we noticed were the excessively large and ugly registers throughout the home. I guess in the 1960s the thought was that a larger register would more evening disperse the air. Good thought, but it turns out that it doesn't work that way.... Continue Reading →

Over the past month we have been working hard to replace all of the doors and trim in the house. Taking the doors out was a little bit of an adventure, but after the first one was out J got the hang of it and the rest were out shortly after. Same thing with installing... Continue Reading →
